But the path from “extraordinary African talent” to “shipping at a global startup” is full of broken bridges. Compliance is opaque. Payments are clunky. Recruiters charge 20%+ for warm bodies. And startups, especially early ones, can't afford to build the operational machinery to do this themselves.
We started Bench to be that bridge. One side: the world's most ambitious startups. Other side: Africa's most ambitious professionals. We handle the messy middle — vetting, matching, contracts, payroll, benefits — so both sides can focus on what they do best.
